There’s an outlier in every great eyeshadow compact—a black-sheep pigment that remains untouched as the shades around it disappear with overuse. Maybe it’s burnt orange or brick red—bright, beautiful…intimidating. Here, makeup artist Miguel Lledo shows us how to work with the outlier from three of our favorite shadow palettes. The trick, he says, is applying it in tandem with all the other colors in the set.
During the cold winter months, our skin tends to become dry, chapped, and sometimes even cracked. Cold temperatures, wind, low humidity, and dry indoor heat all contribute to water evaporating from the skin and leaving it dry. Here are four key steps to getting great holiday-ready radiant skin during the winter months:
1. USE A GENTLE CLEANSER
Switch to a gentler cleanser that won’t over-dry your skin. The winter weather can be harsh on your complexion.
Get a good base and a radiant glow by exfoliating dull skin away. This leaves your pores prepped and ready to add in extra moisture.
3. DROP THE HOT SHOWERS
It’s comforting to take long, hot showers or baths, but these actually dry out the skin. Try to take relatively short, warm baths or showers, and add body oil for silky-soft skin.
4. LEARN TO LOVE MOISTURIZING
Try to moisturize your skin at least twice a day. The best time is immediately after a shower or bath. Thick, rich creams are best for moisturizing and maintaining the skin’s protective barrier.
Eponymous Nigerian womenswear designer, Bridget Awosika, is one fashion brand that never disappoints. We present an all new collection from the designer – “You“.
If this collection looks familiar, then that’s because it was originally showcased at the Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2015 – and everyone loved it.
The collection for Spring/Summer 2016 is inspired by presents, how they make us feel and what is the most beautiful gift of them all.
According to the designer, “If presents are something given voluntarily, without payment in return, as to honor or appreciate a person, then that person receiving is the bigger and greater present. In essence “You” are the most beautiful
gift hence why you are honored with another form of love or appreciation being the present that you receive.
The general understanding is that something “YOU” have done has inspired another person to appreciate “YOU” with a gift as a token of love and appreciation. The collection “YOU” focuses on purity and precision as it strives to present
the woman as the gift to whomever she is surrounded by, and whatever she is a part of.
This encourages her to be inspirational and to be perceived as a beautiful spirit and a special one.“
The collection is filled with whites, off whites and dreamy pretty pastel organzas and silk capes to depict purity, simplicity, innocence, beauty, femininity, and sometimes the naivety in women.
Words probably won’t do justice to the collection, so how about you just check it out yourself.
